When considering the international trade markets, it can be helpful to understand the economies of various countries, as well as the level of corruption in each government.

The World Bank classifies the economies of various countries by Gross National Income per capita (formerly referred to as Gross National Product). This is simply a way of measuring the strength of the country's economy. All countries with a population in excess of 30,000 are included. The Corruption Perceptions Index is an internationally recognized measure of the integrity of a contry's government. Before you enter into trade agreements with international suppliers or companies, you should be aware of the level of corruption in the government of that country. If the regulartory bodies of a country are corrupt, you may have no legal recourse should your trading partner violate an agreement.
